I have it in my mouse wrist from time to time. I got one of those stretchy-with-velcro-and-a-bent-chunk-of-aluminum brace things at Wal-Mart. It was cheap, took care of the problem within a couple of weeks, and I still wear it if I'm going to be doing anything really mouse-intensive, like playing Sims 2 or messing with graphics.

Yay! I looove Sims 2!!!!

Question for you: what of the new "life aspirations" do you find most managable to work with? I am having a terrible time with my guy who has the Romance Aspiration. There seems to be no satisfying him.

If you can take it easy for a few weeks, you might find that it clears up. Tendonitis is fairly common and everyday things exaggerate the painful side effects. Laundry always bothers my wrists, so that I try not to be typing a lot after the laundry.

Obviously you should make your own decision on whether you need to seek medical attention.

However, I would recommend a non-computer-based hobby that uses your hands. I know you don't have a lot of time, but it really helped me to have something that kept my hands moving without stressing the painful bits.

Are you mousing on the left? I find that mouse action is the absolute worst. Such that I can spend 16 hours straight actually typing, but mousing and typing is limited to about 45 minutes before a short stretch/flex is needed and only about 3 hours total without an actual break.

Nope, I mouse with my right.

My right wrist is a little twingy, I became aware of it after my left was giving me noticable pain.

Mousing stress is a big reason why I prefer using trackballs. I have a large ball fingertip type at work and a small ball thumb type at home. Different finger and thumb movements between the trackballs and typing along with regular breaks and some wrist and finger excercises I picked up indirectly from Aikido help keep the stress from being a problem.

I second the recommendation on the trackball.

If you've got big hands, the fingertip trackball might work for you, but I found it excruciating.

Thirded on the trackball recommendation. Even if your mouse hand/arm isn't giving you (much) trouble yet, consider it if you haven't already.

Someone has to say it...

Sore wrist? Been surfing to a few too many of those PayCash "client sites", eh?

Get this book and do the stretches for wrists, hands and fingers. My brother recommended it to me - it has worked wonders for the both of us.

Honestly, I would recommend checking with your doctor. If it's serious, it's much better to catch it early. Jikharra knows stretches as well.

Dude, I hope it gets better soon. I have three friends who came down with RSI stuff...

Seriously, though, ice your wrists a few times a day and try to cut down on the amount of time you spend typing/mousing with the affected hand. We can talk about some stretches and or self massage if you'd like, just mail me.

It's likely you can work through this if you give yourself some space for it to heal. Your tendons are pissed and they are taking it out on the nerves. Give them a time out. :)
