Waffle House
I'm sitting in a Waffle House just outside of Disney. I was out looking around and spotted it on a strip. I don't think I've ever been in one before, but after a recent mention by tyoshida I was curious.

After checking in earlier I chilled until my parents called, then went to see them at Fort Wilderness. That was weird. I haven't been there in years, but we used to stay there. Driving through there gave me heavy nostolgia.

Well, food is up. Later.

I am: wistful
Current Media: sizzle of the grill

What exactly do they serve at Waffle House? Like IHOP, but waffles? I saw 7 of them on one stretch of road down in Mississippi a few weeks ago. I love their signs. X3

Waffles, burgers, etc - kinda like IHOP, but with a much smaller menu selection.

Dude, I cannot believe you've never been to a Waffle House. I imagine the ones down at Disney are pretty nice, which kind of loses some of the Waffle House experience, but hey, you take what you can get. I guess it's a southern thing.

This wasn't at Disney, it was outside Disney. So it looks like every other Waffle House I've seen from the outside. They don't exist up north, not that I've seen.

Yeah, I was just talking with Ard and I don't think I've ever seen one above the Mason-Dixon line. The Waffle House Experience was a key part of my high school career, for better or worse, it's definitely worth trying. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches and the hash browns, covered. ;)

I had the double waffle, bacon crisp, and hash browns scattered and topped. ;-)

Hash browns, scattered, smothered, and covered. Was always a good time at 2 AM after too much beer in college.

An aside: The food is very greasy, so I once ordered a bowl of grease there just to see what they would say. Sure enough, they brought me a bowl half full of cooking oil. Seriously. I tried it on the grits but it sure wasn't up to bacon grease. Unused cooking oil has no real taste.

Color me jealous. Not of Waffle House, but of going to Disney... Yeah, I'm a sucker for Disney magic, I admit it :)
