Give it a couple versions before it goes into a Bond film; it needs to be able to a) take off and b) land (right now it has to be dropped from a plane, then descend by parachute after the five minutes of fuel runs out). Although given the state of special effects, they could always handwave the technical issues and show one as if those problems had been resolved.

See, I'm seeing Bond jumping out the back of an RAF C-130, cruising across some border - at night, the wing would be all black and probably called 'stealthy' in the movie. He dives for the ground, flies nap-of-the-earth, then pulls up over a wall, pops a chute at low altitude, lands inside a compound, shucks off the wing, and walks into an embassy party in full tuxedo to pick up a martini.

Cue music.

Specifically, cue the Propellorheads' "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" remix :)

Actually, I believe the British Special Forces are already developing their own version for just such a HALO / NOE quick insertion system. Of course, theirs won't use off-the-shelf RC jet engines or cost under $100,000. It will, however, have room for the Cobra logo on the back.

Yeah, I saw that in PopSci too. :-)
