“(Zoner is half-blind, possibly having a visual migrane without accompanying pain. He is presently alone at the office, and planning on driving home very carefully.)”

Speaking from experience:

If it is, indeed, an aura migraine, first, don't read this, especially with your migraine-tastic LJ color scheme. (Presumably that's why you phoneposted even though you're still in the office. But I'll keep typing anyway, for future reference, if nothing else.) Second, make your environment as dark as you can, close your eyes if possible, and wait it out. If it goes down like mine usually do, it'll pass within an hour or so and you'll either have no follow-up pain or a window of opportunity to take cover before the headache part kicks in.

Pre-emptive ibuprofen dosage would also not be a bad idea.

Good luck.

This pretty much describes how my (thankfully uncommon) migranes work - weird visual aura things ("swirling color patterns" isn't it exactly, but it's not far off) with no pain for anywhere from 20-45 minutes, progressing in a regular pattern, and about 2-5 minutes after the effect goes away completely, I get slammed with a really REALLY bad headache. Which only goes away if I sleep for a couple hours and ibuprofin doesn't help.

I second the "dark room" part. Also, curling up and whimpering helps.

Yeah, Zoner, just try to go the fuck to sleep and wake up later, even if it's under your desk. Also, if you've never had one of these before, it'd behoove you to go to the doc and get a neurology consult-- they can rule out anything more sinister, and get you some meds for next time.

I made it home, my vision is mostly OK, but my head is hurting now. I grabbed Taco Hell on the way since it was convenient. I'd fed and will be crashing soon.
