PSA: See your dentist regularly

I last saw a dentist in mid-2001, while I still had dental coverage under COBRA. After Event Zero imploded, then HR Logic collapsed, and I had no COBRA coverage, I didn't go for my regular checkups since I was out of work and broke. Ok, so I started working last November and have dental coverage again - but the last thing on my mind when starting a new job was taking time off to go have a checkup, and then I forgot about it.

I have a toothache. It is mild, mainly the tooth is hypersensitive to temperature changes - like those caused by BREATHING if I don't keep my mouth closed. Even then it twinges. The fun part is this isn't a molar or somehting way in the back - it is the lower front, right incisor. Dead front of my mouth.

It started feeling weird last night. This morning I made an appointment with a new dentist in Worcester for next Friday (first opening), figuring it would be fine. But as the day wears on, I wonder if I'll make it a week. If it stays like it is, I should be ok, if it gets worse, I'll probably have to seek emergency treatment.

I haven't had a cavity in many, many years. I don't think I've ever had a toothache. It feels like it is on the inner edge where the two front incisors kind of touch - this is my karma for not flossing more. Even though I brush/wash regularly.

And it is hella busy at work, my personal email is getting WAY backed up. I whimper a little looking at the emails I really should reply too now.

Flawless Victory!

Ok, almost flawless. My Perl port of PayCash worked almost on the first try - one error in the spec that took 1 minute to fix in the code, and two missing 'use' statements. It's up, it's working. I'm happy.

I've already started on Phase 2, porting the additional modules needed for the kiosk system, which will require handling XML. So I suppose I need to decide which XML perl module to use RSN.
