Failed TiVo Rewards referral - Benjamin?

Someone named Benjamin tried to use me as a TiVo Rewards referrer today, but he used the email address I associated with my LJ account - which I *only* use for LJ and not with TiVo, so the credit wasn't attributed. To claim it I'll need to get some information from Benjamin to jump through the 'request credit' hoops at TiVo.

So, if you're out there Benjamin, drop me an email. And thanks for trying to credit me. :-)
God Ain't Watchin'!

The dear departed Reverend Gimp

Alabama minister, Reverend Gary Aldridge, friend of the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, died a somewhat curious death:
The decedent is clothed in a diving wet suit, a face mask which has a single vent for breathing, a rubberized head mask having an opening for the mouth and eyes, a second rubberized suit with suspenders, rubberized male underwear, hands and feet have diving gloves and slippers. There are numerous straps and cords restraining the decedent. There is a leather belt around the midriff. There is a series of ligatures extending from the hands to the feet. The hands are bound behind the back. The feet are tied to the hands. There are nylon ligatures holding these in place with leather straps about the wrists and ankles. There are plastic cords also tied about the hands and feet with a single plastic cord extending up to the head and surrounding the lower neck. There is a dildo in the anus covered with a condom.
This puts a perverse grin on my face:
Clothing/Personal Effects:

Clothing: The decedent was received wearing two (2) wet suits, one scuba diving mask, one pair of diving gloves, one pair of slippers, one pair of rubber underwear, two (2) ties, five (5) belts, eleven (11) straps.

Personal Effects: One yellow metal ring intact on left ring finger, one dildo.
Well, at least he seems to have gone doing what he loved.

A hat tip to jwz and elfs.

Inscrutable Exhortations of My Soul

I'm in a rut - but loving it

The past week or so I just keep having my iTunes play music from my 'Stand Alone' play list - which is all music from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. OST 1, 2, & 3, and Be Human.

I keep thinking "I really should listen to something else, I have over 14,000 tracks! And then I play this play list anyway. :-)

It is especially good after hours when I can turn it up.

I really need to get a copy of the Gits: SAC Solid State Society OST and see if I can track down the OST4 "Smooth in the Shell" CD. I think that was only part of a box set.

Caller ID is not reliable

I think I've said this before, but just in case I didn't, Caller ID is not reliable. It is fairly easily spoofed/faked. So don't rely on it as a concrete way to ID who is calling you. It is still useful in screening calls most of the time, but someone could call you from a 'good' number by faking it. And if you're a software developer, don't use it for authentication.
