Apparently they'd rather I didn't use the thing.

I really don't know where they get "brutal" from my answers. I'm assuming that's the bit they don't like.

They actually turned you away??

But we'd like you to consider not using OkCupid. You can be unthinking and hurtful, and we think you LIKE seeing bad things happen. You've had a moderate number of relationships, but broken a disproportionate number of hearts. In total, you mean well, but don't really have it together.

It's up to you, of course, whether to continue dating. There are plenty of women out there who do deserve you. But you've heard our advice.

The issue here, I think, is that they take the combination of my being a bit of a late-starter with my tendency towards poly-fu as making me unsuitable for human consumption. Their questions assume a complete buy-in to the monogamy thing, and while I go with that when I'm with someone who does, I've done things the other way too and my answers reflected that.

I was going to try it, but if they call you 'hurtful' for not flirting or believing in 'one true love', then I'd be toast anyway.

Hrm. It can't be that, because I gave several poly-riffic answers and still came out "The Peach".

Maybe the quiz has mood swings or something. I took issue with a lot of their assumptions anyway. :P

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of their questions. I lost track of how many times I clicked irrelevant due to issue with the question. Many of the questions feel a lot more like starting points for discussion than something I could give a pat answer to.

Note that the questions can be submitted by users - I've submitted 15 so far. ;-) 5 of them are live, 3 were 'honorably dismissed' - the rest are pending review. (Something weird happened - 4 were marked live, 1 was marked rejected - but it was live when I did the questions. I've emailed about it.)
