But the evening was good. I left work around 19:00, drove to Alewife, and got to Harvard Square via the Red Line a little after 20:00. I picked up the tickets for myself and Vaughn, then wandered over to Fire+Ice. There was a *mob* waiting to be seated, so I initially wandered off to think about going somewhere else. But I decided to go back and see if there was room at the bar - and there was. Jump to the head of the line and go right in. Advantages to being alone I suppose. So I got in and had a ncie dinner at F+I, which is always yummy since you assemble the bits yourself. I finished with plenty of time and wandered back to the theater.
I didn't have long to wait and then in we went - to see Cowboy Bebop: The Movie! I'd seen it before - subtitled at AX02 and dubbed at AXNY/BAAF02 - but it was great to see it again. Plus I hadn't seen the entire dub before, since I had to duck out of it in NYC a couple of times to call back and make sure setup at AXNY was going ok. I strongly encourage people to check this movie out. The theater was fairly full for a 10PM Friday showing. I was hoping they might sell out - but they put it in their largest room, so I'm not surprised that it didn't. I was happily surprised to see it in the largest room.
After the movie we ran into entropygirl from b0st0n and had a brief chat. Then it was off to the T for the train back to Alewife, and the drive back to Worcester. It had started to rain... no sleet... no snow... no freezing rain... no... ok, it decided to be generally pissy with various forms of precipitation falling all the way back to Worcester. But it was well past midnight and traffic was non-existant, so while I had to drive slower than normal, it wasn't too bad. I got home a little while past 1AM. It was fun. :-)
Go see the movie, really. Even if you haven't seen the series, it is worth seeing. And the better it does in the initial release, the more screens it will hit. Oh, and stay through the credits - there is an epilogue.
