(On an unrelated note, I upgraded my Linux desktop at work today to Fedora Core 2 from Red Hat Linux 8 because I needed a newer version of PHP to test something and it was such a dependency hell (PHP meant upgrading Apache, that meant... etc.) that I figured I may as well just upgrade the box in general. I'm glad I did - lots of stuff bumped, and the new versions seem nicer in general. I'm also playing with Yum for the first time and it seems pretty cool.)

I read that recently -- it's pretty amazing how such an odd glitch can cause such weird and apparently unrelated results. And it also explains in part why bugs are so hard to find at times... nobody uses software exactly the same way everyone else does.

And for some reason I had to try multiple times to post this ...
