Disappointed
I know the people involved in this - and I'm disappointed and saddened that they'd go this far to mock and abuse someone trying to help. Makes me wonder if I'd remained on Anime Boston staff if there'd be private 'bash MZ' forums.

I really don't know what else to say. In 12 years of working on cons, having seen a *lot* of crap, this is the worst I can recall.

That kind of thing is largely why I stopped working cons years ago and refuse to work them ever again. I have enough shit to deal with in real life.

You're telling me. I still have no idea how to react to this.

I went to BU with one of the folks involved.

Impressive display of immaturity there.

Damn...

Well, if those are the kind of people on staff at Anime Boston, I don't think I'll be attending Anime Boston. And there was a decent chance it would have been on my list this year, especially if my contract gets renewed.

Sweet tapdancing Zoroaster. What the hell?

Zoner, if I ever need to bash you, I'll do it in g.outside. ;)

Maybe I won't go after all...

Yeah, this is absolute bullshit...

Fortunately, she seems welcome at PMX, so hopefully it won't turn her off cons completely. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have the opportunity to work PMX and Otakon after all the crap that eventually forced me to resign Ani-Magic.

I don't know what brought this about, but its underhanded in the extreme. If you don't have the balls to bring it up in the boardroom, STFU. The Chairman is CLEARLY unfit for his position.

I like Elana. Sometimes she can be *very* forward, but she's never intentionally mean. I sometimes wonder what she thinks of me though....

Some people apparently don't understand that the best treasurers are the ones that DON'T beat around the bush. Ani-Magic would have gone bankrupt if it weren't for the (former?) CFO, Jack. Nobody else had the disipline to not blow all the money. And Revell's idea of treating guests was MUCH more abhorant than what these jokers are complaining about. The treasurer can't be everybody's friend.

Fat ass? That's low. And I have complimented her on how she looks younger than she is.

I guess I'll e-mail my condolences to her.

wow, that's really unprofessional behavior...especially from higher-level staff! my friend is also one of the higher-ups at AB, i always wondered why he was aggravated sometimes.

heck, even volunteering at cons was creepy...there were 2 guys who worked with me @ AXNY, and stupid, naive, little me back then believed it was harmless to just give them my contact info...WRONG!

one guy wouldn't stop IMing me alland was sleazy (mind you, this was back when i was 18 and he was 27). the other guy called my cell phone number 15 times in less than an hour. wtf??? and the messages he left on my voicemail made him sound really creepy. @_@

needless to say, whenever i go to a con, i fear bumping into either one of them. T_T

Jokes about being overwhelmed by your hotness aside - that's jsut wrong. I wish I'd known, I wouldn't let them have a piece of my mind.

I'm trying to remember if I've ever run anyone down that hard in a private conversation, let alone on a freaking web board. I don't think I have, and I've held some pretty low opinions of a few people over the years.

That wallows in lameness.
