I like that when you watch MI-5 in the US, during the opening credits, you'll see white shapes traced out.

They spell out SPOOKS - since that's the title of the show in the UK. I don't know why they had to change it for the US, really.

I am: amused amused

To preempt the inevitable whining from certain sections of the religious right that a show called 'spooks' must be about turning children to the >>gasp<< occult?

Almost certainly because J. Random US Viewer will assume that a show called "Spooks" is a supernatural-horror program. I tend to think, on the other hand, that most people know what MI-5 is or have no association with the term at all.

They probably assume Americans have no idea what Spooks means. Have you seen the new season btw? Not good. I miss Zoey and Tom.

Yes, I've been watching it, and yeah, I miss them too - they were the best characters.

Is possibly due to:
"3 Offensive Slang. Used as a disparaging term for a Black person."

"What th - this show isn't about the NSA!"

No doubt if prospective viewers thought that it was about the NSA, they'd recall Jake 2.0 and attempt to purge that evil from their memories with 60-grit sandpaper.

You know what really hurts is there's at least 10-15 minutes lost to commercials... Which is why there's no credits for the cast.

Yet Another Reason for DVD's.
