House set-back
This was completely expected, frankly. Tomorrow was the scheduled closing date - my lawyer called me today to say the seller is asking for a two week extension to complete the work on the house.

I'm sure he didn't do shit the past few weeks, and was waiting until he had a signed P&S in his hands, etc. So when that was done last week I was sure there was no way he'd be done this week. And I'm right.

My lawyer will talk to his lawyer tomorrow to see if we can bring it in from the 27th, since that'd only leave me a couple of days in the month to move.

Today hasn't been a good day.

*hugs* I am taking Sunday of Memorial Day weekend off, so if I can be of service in helping the moving process, please let me know!

Eh, if they're anything like the city inspectors and garage builders and construction guys here, it's not his fault... in my case they're dragging their asses. And I STILL haven't seen any sign of the air conditioner inspector who's supposed to clean it and make sure the motor won't burn out from crap stuck in it, so I can't use my own a/c. The guy was called on Friday, and as of yesterday, my a/c was still covered with crap that had gotten sucked into its filters.

If it would help, you could move your non-essential items to our basement in Bedford now-ish. That ways, at the end of the month, you would have less to move, and you could move it out of our basement at your leisure.

I've got a six or seven pound man sitting on my bladder at all times, so I am completely useless when it comes to moving help, otherwise.

Well, since the seller is doing it as a condition of the sale, if I sign before it is done I don't have much of a stick to make him finish.

Jer's plan is a lot more efficient than lugging your stuff to Bedford.

But, what about getting him to reduce the price by whatever amount you think the work will cost? (Then you move into a house that you don't consider safe, right? But you move into a house... )

Hun, make sure that something is said about if he does get the work done by that time. You need to decide what you will do if he delays it past your move out date. You also said that your landlord might let you stay a bit longer if you had to. You might find out how much s/he would charge you to do that and then charge it back to the seller.

Light some fire under his ass and get him moving, Tell him Malone will be after him if he does not get it done soon ;)

I'm sorry your day has not been a good one :( Just take it one breath at a time and I PROMISE you will look back on this time and laugh your ass off! Trust me, I'll tickle you until you do! lol

Ah, the fine Worcester tradition of the midnight move.

Lease up at the end of May? Can't move into the new place because the new lease doesn't start til June, despite the promises and assurances of the guy you are getting the space from?

Get some friends, get a u-haul, pack your entire apartment in the day, move all night!

Spend the next day cleaning out all the crap that the previous people left behind.
