The Ramblings of a Damaged Mind
Quick update
I'm moved - I slept in the new house last night. Not even a bit unpacked yet. Still some stuff in the old apartment, but that will be taken care of in the next couple of days.

Real reason for posting - I dropped my Treo yesterday. I was standing in the door of the house and if I'd been a couple of inches back it would've landed on padded carpet. Instead it landed on the door sill, catching the bezel on the side of the screen - and sending a crack right across the LCD. I stopped at Cingular today, but they can't help - unless I want to pay $600 for a new one. So I'm sending it to Palm for repair, for 'only' $187.95. I'll probably be without it for at least a week, maybe more. I need to ship it yet, probably tomorrow on the way to work.

So, don't be trying to call or text me on my cell for now. Gweeps - the Gweep Rolodex has been updated with my new home info. I'll try to remember to put an answering machine on the line tonight.

This is what, the second time you've had to repair/replace the Treo now?
Can't you get a hard case for it like the other Palms? My Dad's dropped his Tungsten E a few times, but it was in a hard case and didn't damage the unit.

The problem with the hardcases is that they really defeat the convenience of having the thing right there on your hip. Especially since it is a phone and you need to be able to grab it and answer a call immediately, etc. The hard cases I've seen basically entomb the unit and make it awkward to use - let alone hold to your head.

I tried mailing you from one of my other accounts and it bounced. Anyway, what's rei's new IP address?
Try ratinox at verizon dot net or ratinox at newsguy dot com.

I haven't moved Rei or Ni yet - they're still sitting where they've been for 3 years. I just heard that Rei is offline - I don't know what happened, but I'm at work and I can't go check until tonight. I was going to move them tomorrow since the plan to move them before the 'big move' didn't pan out (packing shit took a lot longer than expected). I don't think Speakeasy was turning off the line today - I don't know what happened.

I'll check on them tonight, if the line is dead then I'll have to do an emergency move to the new place - and hope the DSL is working right there, since I haven't had time to really test it. (I was going to test it tonight to make sure both IPs were ready, then do the move tomorrow.)
