TiVo introduces 'TiVo Basic'

I think this is GREAT - this is exactly the kind of thing they need. A no-fee, no-frills service that they can 'trojan' themselves into devices with. And once in the home, when people have a chance to play with the basic features, they can 'upgrade' to a full featured system simply by paying the fee.

Definitely the way to go.

So it is just "Hey kid, first one's free" by a different name. :-)

I want to wire TiVo right into my brain! ;-)

I can see why their developers lack a sense of urgency about that market, though. I mean, there are only, what, five channels in Canada, and one good program. How hard is it to remember when Royal Canadian Air Farce is on?

(Kidding. I watched at least 20 channels one night in a hotel in Toronto. And one of them featured dramatic readings of Victorian pornography! Now there's technology serving Mankind.)
