Eris is Dead. Long live Eris!
OK, so I've kept folks in suspense long enough I suppose. I guess it has been torture for lizzielizzie :-) Warning, *HUGE* images behind the cuts.

As many of you know, I have custom license plates - ERIS. My first vehicle with these plates was my Jeep Cherokee - I got that in late 1994 and sold it in 2001 after getting Eris Mk.II. (Which is why the plates in the photo aren't 'ERIS' - I'd already transferred them, and took the photos to sell the Jeep.) More photos of Mk.I here.

Eris Mk.II was a 2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition - (And yes, that's my house in the background.) More photos of Mk.II here.

She served well, but sometimes relationships just come to an end. Sometimes you just want something with more drive, more passion, something a bit sexier. So last night we parted ways amicably, and I have a new special someone in my life - More photos of Mk.III here.

Eris Mk.III is a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T in the Go ManGo! paint scheme. 5.7L 350HP V8 HEMI with Multi-Displacement. (In other words, it shuts down 4 cylinders for highway cruise.) 5-speed AutoStick automatic transmission. Traction control and electronic stability system. AM/FM 6-disc CD (MP3 & WMA), cassette, and Sirius satellite digital radio. 6 Boston Acoustics speakers with subwoofer and 322 Watt Amp. Power everything.

It is, indeed, a sweet ride.

What? No SRT8? Iit has .4 more liters for only $9k more.
zonereyrie From: zonereyrie Date: September 29th, 2005 09:51 pm (UTC) (Direct Link)
Sure, 425hp instead of 350hp... but nope. :-) I'd be afraid of those 20" wheels and rubber band tires on the local streets.

Yeah? What kinda transmission you got in there?

Race you.

5 speed automatic with AutoStick.

You still have to inject gas in those combustion chambers and, believe me, when gas reaches $5 a gallon he'll be glad he "only" has 350hp. :)

Congrats on the muscle car!

It may be time to remove the "tot finder' from the front window of the house ;-)

Thanks.

And yeah, I need to get out there with a ladder and a razor. There are two of them, one on either corner window.

It's not only Eris Mark III, but also the Daytona From Hell Mark II! ^_^
zonereyrie From: zonereyrie Date: September 29th, 2005 11:32 pm (UTC) (Direct Link)
Yes, yes it is. And this one really has the power to back it up. :-)

"What? You know he bought the Charger."

Heh, yeah, I know I'd mentioned it as an object of lust a couple of months ago.

Very nice! But you seem to be falling into a Mopar rut. Just so long as you like it! :-)
zonereyrie From: zonereyrie Date: September 30th, 2005 12:30 am (UTC) (Direct Link)
Before the Jeep I had a 1989 Dodge Daytona ES Turbo, so the rut has been long lasting. Before that I was driving the family Chrysler LeBaron.

My grandfather was a Chrysler salesman, so we pretty much always had Chrysler cars growing up. Until my mother got a Jaguar, and my dad eventually got a Mercedes. But now they have a Dodge Durango and a Mercedes. :-)

I simply loved my 86 Daytona. I could drive faster than the speedometer would display, although I only did once, and wasn't that thrilled about it.

I was devastated when it eventually became the "winning" car of the Daytona vs. Bronco Demolition Derby (I made the T&G for that one..)

My '89 had a digital dash, the fastest I got her up to was 125.

I remember you talking about how much you liked the new Charger. Congrats and good luck with it. I liked what I saw about it last time I had my Strat in for service.

And here's hoping it doesn't turn out to be Daytona from Hell Mk.II :).

Yeah, I've been lusting after it for a couple of months. :-)

Congrats! Chrysler really has some underrated vehicles. I'm a big fan of the Mitsubishi 3.0 they used to use in several vehicles (including the Daytona).

IIRC my old Daytona had a Mitsubishi 2.5L Turbo. The motor was OK, but the car overall was a lemon.
