I can kinda see the resemblance.

That's not weak, for $25 that's a bargain. I went looking for this on eBay a while back, and the cheapest I saw was like $60+ before the thing ended.

Okay, I didn't really see you *not* getting the Garland, truth be told ^_^

Actually, I have to thank you for that and some of the other geek toys you linked to previously; I would never have known the incredible history of Microman (and Microman's ties to Transformers and G.I. Joe) otherwise.

Now all you need is a to-scale model of the old Daytona, and figure out how to work the two together...
That is, if memory serves correctly on the config from UF...

I leave the rest as an exercise for the reader...

Was it a Garland, or was it the Beta from Mospeada? ...Why do I still remember that? Ah, it *docked* with the Beta.

Anyhow, all you need to do is track down a CAD file for the Daytona, and one for a Beta toy, and you can scale the two to match. After that you just send the file to a Rapid Prototyping firm with an SLA and you can have your own in no time, Bob's Your Uncle.

Re: I leave the rest as an exercise for the reader...

It was neither. The Daytona's 'beta-unit' was a one-off, not based on anything.

Well, they have the masterpiece Alphas, which I totally want, but, man. 80 bucks.

If I wait long enough, maybe I can get them for 19.99 at Software Ad Nauseum (I mean "GameStop") like I did my Max Sterling VF-1J...

There are other versions-- somebody I knew in the 80's had one, and I was jealous then and still want one like his. 8) It was much sturdier than the Masterpiece versions seem to be, too.

I still have that soundtrack on LP. :) Also have the CD that became so very hard to find for a while.

I have the Books Nippon LD too, and the CD version, and the 10th anniversary CD, and now the 20th... :-)
