Cyphermint is a small tech company on Rt.20 in Marlborough, just west of I495. We're hiring for a few positions:
* Systems Administrator II

See the careers page on our website.

The two admin positions report to me, as Director of IT Ops. I'm especially open to new grads for the SAII slot.

That does have potential... sadly my hardware skills are lacking. I'm a bad CS, I actually buy my computers pre-assembled! (though I have added drives occasionally)

It would definately be nice focusing more on the IT side than my current job, I'm currently responcible for QA Systems testing and supporting the functional QA team. It would be nice removing myself from the systems testing side.

Random WPI Alum.

There isn't a lot of HW for the SA II job - sometimes updating a box, adding RAM, etc. Or the rare case of troubleshooting if something doesn't work correctly. There is more hardware for the higher level job - dealing with servers, network gear, etc.

Do they need a coffee bitch? Maybe I'll get a 2nd job. ;-)

Wow! I've always wanted to be a customer service rep for the Russian mafia.

... Oh, wait, that probably doesn't mean what I think it means, does it.

No, it doesn't mean 'leg breaker'. ;-)

I think that's slated for Q3 under "Accounting". :)

wow, SA II is like, 1/3 of what I'm doing here. Of course, at the library I also run a CE program for the public, buy equipment, do long range planning, keep track of all the service stats, edit/design/bulk mail the quarterly newsletter, & keep a broom stuck up my ass to sweep up the place while i'm at it. :P

I'd apply for the SAII if I wasn't completely repulsed by the concept of doing support work, even though I'm not fully qualified for it (I'm probably 50-75% qualified).

I probably need to start looking for something new, mostly because I don't want a 90 minute commute on either end of my day.
