The Ramblings of a Damaged Mind
Short version...
I have more to say, but I need to crash. So for now - my new TV was delivered Thursday morning. I finally had time to set it up today - it took hours to de-cable my old entertainment center, re-cable the new one, and then reconfigure everything. I finished just as I had to book for lizzielizzie's birthday, so I had my first chance to really sit and enjoy the setup tonight.

Oh hell yeah. :-)

I know I'm such a boy, but this is fucking awesome. I had to rearrange the room, so I need to get some speaker wire and stands to configure the rear speakers. But it is still so cool. :-)

Like I said before. Can I come to your house and watch the ALCS?

This shows you how into sports I am - I had to use Google to remember what the 'ALCS' was. ;-)

The joke is actually that I wouldn't ever go to MA to watch the ALCS. I would be quickly killed and stretched over the green monster. See...I'm one of those hated Yankee's Fans.

Oh, that could be good. I can hide most of the run along the wall, but I have a gap to jump across from there to the couch. Then I'll hide it under the couch with the speakers behind. I'm planning to get one of those rubber conduit strips you see at tradeshows and in some offices to 'safe' the run across that gap. I also have a power lead running across it to have power by my couch for my laptop, etc.

I also have some speaker wire you can have. It's nice and heavy... I may have the pieces to terminate it with, too, depending on what you need.

Both my receiver and speakers use screw-down posts where you shove the bare wires in a hole and then tighten.

Yeah, what gweepprefect said.

I may have some spare dual banana jacks. I highly recommend them-- it's a little easier on the ends of your speaker cable.

I can check, and you're welcome to them... Otherwise, they're the high-end Radio Shack ones (which are all shiny and gold and actually pretty decent) and are worth at least taking a look at...
