HEH! I want to see this movie! The trailer has a strong Reefer Madness vibe.

See! The sex capitol of the world, where topless bands beat out the throbbing rhythms of a turned-on generation!

That was awesome. And sample-riffic.

Sigh. And here I was setting up my laptop to be a mix machine and play with some happening riffs, and you point out to me the obvious: there are precious samples in there to be riffed and chopped mad. I'll never have any musical talent if I keep missing stuff like that.

I have the best sample-source CD *ever* - well, solipsistnation has it, I loaned it to him a few years ago.

It is a CD of Disneyland ride recordings from when they opened. I was at the park several years back and they had these 'make your own CD' kiosks. Most of the tracks were ride songs - It's a Small World and the like - but they also had things like the original Mission to Mars naration, the original Monorail spiel, etc.

Guess which tracks I filled a CD with. :-)

So you have all these FIFTIES MAN! voice-overs, and some are just priceless. "This is a close-up picture of a groove" and "In a moment, it will drop down" and other such material.

I need to get the CD back to rip it into iTunes at some point too.

"Refer Madness"? Isn't that the cautionary public-service film depicting the young people who get caught up in the "hip new craze" of passing around gmail invites, invites to that new LiveJournal-for-grownups thing I can't remember the name of, and whatnot until they descend into a dissipated spiral of madness, mayhem and murder?

Ugh, typos. ;-)

That would spoil the alliteration, though.

No, wait, I have it! "Mammaries".

I saw a similar trailer called Strange Desires, which had very much the same vibe. It was about the underground swinger scene in New York in the late 1960s. Full of hints of rape, and there was at least one furry in there in trailer.

I wasn't aware that there was a whole cinematic subculture similar to the "exposés that titillate" books that were popular in the lat 1950s. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but now I want to read some.
