Holy shit
One of my old WPI roomies is running for Congress.

that_xmas spotted this. We lived together for a couple years at WPI, then I kind of lost track of Paul. He was a nice guy, and extremely quiet. I think the rest of us kind of weirded him out. :-)

Jesus shit, Zoner, he was probably worried that your debaucheries would eventually reflect poorly upon his political career. No *wonder* he was quiet. :)

He has, however, lost.

16% (currently, with 39% reporting) is pretty respectable for a Libertarian, though.

He probably would have done better if his web site didn't look like it was designed in 1994.

Dang, it's Paul Ard. Not a name I'd ever expected to run into again.

No zoner, we didn't weird him out. He was reveling in being the quiet/creepy one and used to try to appear out of the darkness to scare the hell out of Haywire and I when he could. He got us both a few times. He would attempt to fuel my own paranoia in other ways as well.

Though his last year he did start down the road to respectable, even though he couldn't wear some of his shirts anymore because he no longer had long hair to hide the ironing burns on the back.

You have to be insane or at least slightly off your rocker to ever want to run for public office. I know - I've done it. Hell, I'm going to do it again.
