Wow, very nice Windows LJ client...
When I started using LJ I downloaded the original Windows client (Visions) and it was ok, but seemed to lack some of the things the website form had.

Last night I decided to download ljwin32_sema - an evolved client.

Very nice, IMHO. I recommend it.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a built in spell checker. The one in the Visions client is licensed for LJ, but they haven't worked out the license for Semagic yet. Right now it is setup to use the MS-Word spell checker - but I don't have that on my system.

So, if you post from Windows, check it out.

o.O I have that client, and *mine* has a spellchecker in it.

Semagic? Really? Huh - do you have MS-Word on your machine? What OS is it on? This weak laptop is running WinME at the moment. The Semagic support page talks about them using that for spellchecking.

I was thinking about it, but not clear on the configuration involved - I'll follow up to your post.

Suggestion...

Make sure that you have the client set to autosave at a high frequency. There's a known, intermittent bug with that client. It's been known to crash (when you run the spellchecker) and take your work with it -- and the bug pops up more often with longer messages.

I've never experienced the crash, but frozencapybara has. Autosave is your friend.
