Where is your symbol of loyalty, Citizen?

You can't even parody this shit, it is self-parody.

Congress and Dubya declare May 1st, 2007 'Loyalty Day'.

Loyalty? You've got to be fucking kidding me. National Pride Day, or even Patriotism Day, I could just shrug off as rah-rah junk. But Loyalty Day? C'mon, that's just too over-the-top.

EDIT: OK, this is not a new law - it is an old law that Dubya decided to drag out of the closet, dust off, and re-release on DVD. When did it start? In 1958. Can you say 'Red Scare'? I knew you could. So, the question is, is it really better, or worse, that he's pulled out a scare tactic law from the Red Scare play book? We're just moved on from Communists to Terrorists. I'd say show trials are next - but that part seems to have changed. Now we just skip the trial and toss people in detention.
